No. No further than 1799/1800. No command is particularly good during the Revolution and the Imperial period has enough rules.

Aw... 1806 is glorious, especially on the rare occasion Prussia wins!

How on earth does that army give the Prussians a close run battle?

Greetings

1. Which ruleset: I Ain't Been Shot Mum
2. Which armies: British rifle company 1944 with 2 platoons and a ducked tank troop vs a German platoon + assets defending a farm
3. Comfort with ruleset: Yes
4. First time playing: No - played quite a lot if intermittently
5. How many players: 2 plus referee

Basically I moved forward too slowly fearing ambushes (rightly) but was in a decent position to outflank the Germans on both sides by the end at the cost of 7 casualties including the company commander (vs 4 German).

Very easily if you pit the Reichesarmee against the 1759/60/61 Western Army of Prince Henry made up of impressed POWs, dodgy Frei korps, unwilling Saxons, Garrison troops and a smattering of Prussian Battalions to give them some steel. The majority of good Prussian units were kept by Frederick in the Central Army.

Ducked?

Think I meant 'reduced' as in 3 rather than 4 tanks in the troop!

Just started another Walter Schnaffs FPW Square Bashing game with another player who has never played SB before. He really likes the rules.

During the week

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Wing scale Volley & Bayonet
2) What armies were confronted?  British v Mahdist
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - Yes, testing my 'integration' of a couple of other peoples higher scale Sudan variants
5) How many players were in the game? - Solo

First game was a refight of 2nd El Teb, historic result with the Mahdists overwhelmed  X_X
Second game pitted one infantry brigade and the cavalry against the same Mahdist force, a very near run thing with a charge by the Gordon Highlanders saving the surviving British  :-SS

Saturday, during the day

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Spearhead
2) What armies were confronted?  British v Italians
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - Not by a long way for me, first time for my opponent
5) How many players were in the game? - Two

Played a game at the local club, Hutt Miniature Wargames Club, for the first time in a while.

I commanded the Italians trying to break through the British blocking force at Beda Fomm and to quote O'Connor's signal to Wavell, "Fox killed in the open"  :(

We are looking to arrange another Spearhead game next month :)

Saturday evening

Our planned Solomon's campaign game had to be postponed, so

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Home brew WW II
2) What armies were confronted?  Kiwis v Germans
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - Four

To mark the 75th anniversary of the Second Battle of El Alamein we had the Germans attacking some defending Kiwis. The German armour was caught by extremely accurate artillery fire (the Kiwi artillery commander was rolling very good dice) as it tried to maneuver around the minefields :o X_X

Overall a very enjoyable, if not entirely successful, week :) :) :)

Hi

1) What ruleset did you use in your last game? - Field of Glory Renaissance
2) What armies were confronted?  Royalist v Scots Covenanters
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Pretty much, although it was our first game in over two years, so a bit rusty.
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 2

Unfortunately we did not get to finish in the time available, probably down to me being to ambitious with the points. Still a good game and has certainly wet our appetites for another go in the very near future.

Cheers Paul

1) What ruleset did you use in your last game? - Twilight of Divine Right (ECW/TYW version of ToSK)
2) What armies were confronted? A refight of the battle of Lutter 1626 - Danes vs Catholics
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - Yes
4) and... was this the first time you used this ruleset? - No
5) How many players were in the game? - 2

A play test/re-fight of a TYW battle. The two armies are of similar size but Danes are in a nice defensive position. Yet the Danish army is lower quality overall and has a stupid command system. The Catholics have the advantage of better quality troops, although often using older tactics, and commanders. It was a close battle with the Catholics struggling to cross the marsh and stream dividing the armies. But the arrival of a Catholic  flank march and the grinding advance of Tilly's veteran tercio finally force a crossing and the Danes then struggled. A spirited counter attack by the Danish cavalry promised a reversal of their fortunes but it faltered and the Danes folded.
