I'll see if I can Google a piccy of a 1973 Egyptian gas mask.
I just Googled "Egyptian gas Mask".    :-&

Be careful Phil ... there are things you should not know about.

Thing is I asume the gas masks are same as Warpact kit, and that's were the AK carrying wombles come from. Basically that mask has a filter in a long pointed face peice which made the squadies think of it as a womble suit. The other question is why are you doing figures in NBC gear, neither side ever used it and lacked any viable delivery system.

Assembled the next three batches as the snow came down.
Then spent a fruitless and utterly annoying half hour trying to find the bases I needed for batch four.  ~X( ~X( ~X(

Thanks again, Ian. :-bd

I actually managed to find a pic of that.  :o......and once I had, the piccy I've already got made perfect sense.

I think it was again down to this strange 'two dimensional dyslexia' I seem to struggle with........It was SO  bloody obvious, once I realised what I was looking at...... X_X
Just weird I couldn't see it in the first place !!!....I mean....there's even one of the eyepieces of the mask sitting there poking out of the top of the bag.  =)

Cheers - Phil. :)

So the link I posted, which had lots of pictures?

No Nobby you are unset cement . I did look at your link to confirm it was the type I was thinking of. To top it off now Phil has the masters almost done the mask would be worn with a bulky rubberisd suit - this link has a piccy

Yeah, I guess "RUSSIAN RUBBER GAS MASK FROM 6 DAY WAR EGYPT ARMY 1967" just wasn't close enough.

No it was fine, it's an area I had a small amount of knowledge in. With nerve gas you have to cover all the body with impremiable material, which makes you hot and very sweaty. So masks had fittings to allow the wearer to drink, although the Soviet type doesn't.

Base coat colours applied to my scratch built aircraft hangar, plus flags painted. The latter take time but I like the finished look.

From what Techno said above I suspect the gas mask is partly showing as the bag it has been stowed in is partly open

I'm pretty sure the figure won't be wearing it

It's what I found too, Nobby....Thanks for looking.  :-bd

Matey's not going to be wearing the mask.....I just couldn't make sense of the artwork until I saw the image you've linked to....It made sense then.  :-[
What I was seeing as a large pocket on the side of the figure in the piccy, was actually the bag holding the mask itself. =)

Cheers - Phil.  :)
