Now that Daughter No.1's flat has been painted and decorated, put up for sale and received an offer  :-bd , I dug out some Pendraken SYW Jagers (oh, the excitement), painting a dozen figures as the Feldjager zu Fuss for a small unit using Honours of War. If I say so myself, they came out rather well. I then duly based them ... and then hit a problem. You see, the standing figures in the pack have been sculpted in the "ice-skating" pose and, not liking this  :( , I first cut off or cut down the supporting "metal pegs" from the figures with legs in the air and then, to avoid the figures balancing on one leg only, bent the figure back to give a more upright pose. This has worked well enough for my SYW Croats but not so on one of my Jager figures - and it had to be the one of my special custom made command bases! Alas, due to its positioning, this figure is constantly being bent over when I pick the base up - so much that I now think the supporting leg is far too weakened for it to last. Oh well, looks like I'll need to re-base and/or paint up another figure.  ~X(

On a happier note, I also painted up the new stone farm from Pendraken's 19th Century ACW/AWI range. This is the first model in my new 10mm scale building programme and it paints up very nicely. A lovely range of buildings and hopefully some more European Black Powder additions will be scheduled in future. :-bd

I've just finished some of the old Italian 1860's sculpts, which are about 50% similar poses (though possibly not as bad...). As they're an exceedingly quick job between (during) commissions I just got a bit enthusiastic with the PVA, sand and flock on the base so the metal peg bit looks like lumpy earth/tussocks. It's not ideal, but it means no cutting and then ankle breakages, with any luck, whilst disguising the ice skating stance! Excuse the terrible piccy, I just snapped it quick :D

Mostly finished my One Hour Wargames 2mm medievals, so stuck them onto bases last night.  Just need to apply some scenic materials now :)

6mm Tusk looking very Winter Wonderland!  Not sure if it's the look I want, but I've done it very well (even if I say so myself)!  Trying to work out if I can turn it into Steppe Tundra without trashing them...  :-\

Funny old day...
This morning...
Applied brown paint to the 54 cavalry, you know, flesh highlights, wood and leather work.
Messaged the owner with an enquiry this afternoon.
Turned out he could no longer afford my services, as his wife has been laid off and as he is retired and on a low pension, finances were at breaking point. Yes, this is the same chap who had an army stolen, he has atrocious luck.
Slight panic by me, in the middle of a Smyths Toy Store, as my Christmas spends disappeared.
Quick conversation with Hammy and Dracostandard as they know the industry better than anyone.
Client agreed that I could sell them on.
Within twenty minutes a very good friend had agreed to buy them. He will get them for painting price, as the lead is obviously cursed, I know I could have got more on Fleabay, as they are all Essex, and I had put effort into these, but... (insert swearword here) it!
Yes, I know I should have taken part payment earlier or a deposit, but after the last army was tea-leafed, and the original client is an old adversary, I'm too much of a soft touch.

Inks and metalwork done tonight, with a huge sense of relief.
