Centaurs - so only one army can have a particular troop type? Pauls DBA campaign is in trouble :)

Harpies and gorgons are from Greek mythology, like the Amazons.  What is this chaotic evil of which you speak? ;)

OK in Greek myth there's only one Minotaur, to be fair, and he's male, I'll give you that.

How about a gigantic bronze statue instead?

Or skeletons from dragons teeth?

I'm with FK on this. Never seen the appeal of massive bazookas. Long, shapely legs are much more my cuppa.

I'm with both of you :)

Slim 'leggys' means ultra slim ankles.

Which is a right sod, as far as a 'snapping point' is concerned at this scale. :(

Speaking as a concerned friend - take a break!

Female figures are VERY difficult to do.....Unless you spend absolutely ages on them.
:o :o It that why you spend so much time on the reference material?

Well you've obviously never faced a horde of T34/85's on the Imjin.

What about legs sculpted together, or with a toga-like tunic? like for example:

If you scroll down those phot's it's like a strip-tease.

I like the idea of the long skirts, get a bit of drapery into the figure.

Not sure of the practicality of an ankles together pose.  :- Very poor balance, I would suggest.

The female ankle isn't that much smaller than the male, and surely greaves or ugg boots would solve the problem?

No problem with weak ankles with this version of an Amazon Warrior though I'm guessing she's rather overdressed for most wargamers image of fantasy Amazons :)

Well, if there's a suitable range to go with her....

Nope, she seems about right to me.

Perhaps a bigger shield?

I think the pelta she's carrying is more appropriate than a hoplon (hoplite shield). Most Amazons should be foot or mounted archers anyway (IMHO) so a unit of these would provide mobile close combat support for the archers rather than forming a hoplite style battle line.

A thureos might be a possibility.

YMMV :)
