A while ago I posted some links about WW1 histories of various nations that are available online:

I digging around the net about  the French Fusilier-Marine brigade's operations in the early part of the "Race to the Sea" I came across a LOT of digitized stuff on the French that I have not seen previously - their official histories (including all the maps) and war diaries for every French unit you can think of and them some.

Whats scary is that I can understand most of it even although I only did School Cert French at school......quite a few years ago shall we say  :o

War Diaries (Journal du Marche et Operations): http://www.memoiredeshommes.sga.defense.gouv.fr/fr/arkotheque/inventaires/ead_ir_consult.php?fam=3&ref=6&le_id=1262

Might be of some interest to someone?

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Definitely a good find :)

The scary thing is that through various research projects I can now, to varying degrees, read military German, French, and Polish. I can even make a reasonable attempt at Turkish :o
