I know the Japanese PM turn up.

I know he was dressed as Super Mario.

Does anyone know why?

Didn't watch so thought you were jesting - but saw video - amazing.
Perhaps Nintendo is a major sponsor of the 2020 olympics in Tokyo?
Maybe the PM is into cosplay - in which case - glad his not into Hentai porn Smiley

Tokyo Olympics in 4 years time may use themes from their history and culture as London did for there's.

The conceit of having someone dressed as Mario pop into a green tube in Tokyo and Shinzo Abe appear as Mario from a green tube in Rio echoes the Queen's "paradrop" into the London opening ceremony.

There are already those campaigning for Studio Ghibli to design the opening ceremony and for Pokemon Go to be added as an event. One a more serious suggestion than the other I suspect Smiley
