Generic Zombie Skirmish Rules

I've been a long time Zombie flick fan and for years have been hankering for a set of rules that aren't too complicated and that can be fought out with a handful of models per side.

I've come to the conclusion that I may have to write my own and have set about doing this as a welcome distraction from studying.

I'm aiming for a game that can be played solo as well as against an opponent and I'm also hoping to create a set of rules generic enough to have human forces from as wide a range of history as possible going toe to toe with zombies, the undead, revenants and thralls. I love the idea of Pike and shot units taking on undead hordes as much as WW2 Infantry encountering Nazi Zombies or futuristic Special Forces rescuing apocalyptic survivors.

Most of my zombie/undead options are in 28mm but I hope that the rules maybe flexible enough to use 10mm with multiple figures per base.

I'm far from having the rules ready to share but wondered if anyone else is doing something similar?
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I quite like these, although I've yet to use the Zombie set...

(hmm... I'm sure the Wild West & Modern set are new since I was last there...)

I used these rules for my zombie games:

You can add in everything from the different periods, it all works on the same engine.

Here's  some zombie rules I've added to my site. It's a work in progress so don't be to hard

I used savage worlds with the zombie extras for the different types :)

Hello Nosher

Have you looked at Zombie Plague yet? http://www.fortressfigures.com/zombieplague/media/pdf/zombie_plague_color.pdf

My boys have a lot of fun with this game. They also use their photoshop skills to plant friends faces on the paper zombies  :).

I understand there is a fairly large sort of community that has updated rules and new maps. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/7514/zombie-plaguehttps://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/23724/kwanchais-updated-zombie-plague-packagepdf

Hi,
My gaming group uses Occult Wars for our zombie games. We use them for 28mm & 40mm but they should work well with other scales. Wargames Vault sell the PDFs version (I think).
They give plenty of options for the various different types of zombies (shambles/runners etc) and should be ok for solo play too.
Cheers,
Rob
