It was a great time, the clothes might have been a bit dodgy but we had a lot more freedom than today, and the weather was better... who can remember the summer of 1976?

If you can remember the summer of '76 then you obviously didn't have sunstroke like I did. As to clothes! Who wore any that year?

No, I had a great summer, I walked the Pennine Way and apart from a couple of small thunder storms had constant sunshine.  My main problem was the lack of water and the bogs catching fire in the Dark Peak; once the heather had burned off the fire got into the peat itself.
