Glad you all like the objective markers - they have come out very nicely with a pretty quick paint job - should have done it months ago!!

Tyranid Bio Titan

Speaking of painting stuff that should have been done months ago

Got some more colours on this big beasty - mainly over painting brown base coat with pale sand, and getting some future white bits painted brown towards the front.

I'm not quite sure what to do with the back legs, and the under body. For most of my 'nids I've gone with white for boney armour plates, black for pointy weapon bits, and red for the fleshy interior bits. But as this one is so big it seems to have a second type of lighter armour - I don't really want to go white for this, but I'm not sure what colour to go with, perhaps a paler brown?

That's a spiffy looking horde you have there!

DFS is right. That horde really looks spiffy.  :-bd

I haven't the faintest idea of what that last lot are but they do look very nice.

Just had a look on fleabay for Epic flying stuff...silly money being asked. I've got one of those mole digging things and someone wants £98 for one. Hah!

Thanks chaps - the horde has expended since that photo! Not too many of those are GW Epic, there might actually be more GW 28mm 40k figures in there than epic ones. Most of the infantry are from Onslaught, and there is a fair amount from DRM too. Even a few Pendraken!!

As to eBay prices for Epic - there are a few models that are rare that actually sell for lots, there are also lots of models that people would like to sell for lots but rarely do. I tend to have various saved searches, and keep watching them for stuff at sensible prices. Some stuff is so hard to get hold of that its much easier to buy 3rd party stuff.

Armoured parts painted pale sand, backs of legs and a few other bits dark red. White on shooty weapons to act as a base for green, and a few white highlights on the sand. Tided up the black bits.
Next add some grey highlights to the black, and the green on the weapons, then seem what else needs doing. There is so much surface area, it feels like I need to do a bit more than just block paint and wash.

White on shooty weapons to act as a base for green,
Wait until you've 'greened' the white areas, Forbes. That's going to make it look very different.

For what its worth, I sold a lot of the epic nids a while back. Mostly infantry and a few trygons. Also one big titan.got about 40£ for it. That's a reasonable price.don't believe any of that buy it now crap. The trade forum over at the tactical command forum has the more sensible prices going around. Maybe if nothing else was around you could go by the silly prices, but as said, there are toi many substitutes available to warrant those prices.

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Thanks for the tip, I'll go look for that...

And me.

#fred. Nice looking though it is, that multi-coloured behemoth you have posted a couple of pictures of...I am still trying to work out which way up it should be. I can make no sense of it at all.

It's a bit of a strange beasty  - not helped by the cluttered background and high contrast paint scheme.
In the top picture it is facing right, you can just see he head (brown) with big mandibles, under one of the gun arms.
The front legs are very tall and straight with overlapping white armoured plates. The back legs are more like dog's legs and painted red.

The tail curls back under neath as well, to complicate the overall shape.
