what is the best product to use to strip paint from pendraken ww2 armour
I have a number of vehicles that i had painted up to use in europe that
I now want to paint up for use in north africa

Assuming they have been painted in acrylics then a pine oil based cleaner will work - can't recall the brand I used but found it in Asda. If the paint is very tough then you may need to use conventional paint stripper.

Another approach is to do what the army did, and just paint over the European camouflage with desert colours, often leaving markings on a square of the original colour.

Just seen you are in NZ so Asda may not be too helpful the brand name in the US is Simple Green.

In Canada Pine-Sol is a reliable product

I recently had to strip some GHQ microarmour and Wilkinson's cheapo own brand paint stripper worked a treat, £2.83 cf Nitromors £5.60...

I've found the Dettol disinfectant to work pretty well on metals - I had some 30 year old enamel paint off of some old figures.

No wonder i used to scream when my mum put it on my cuts and scrapes  >:(
