Touch ups done and washed  :)

Second coat on top and two coats on the edges done on the bases  :)

Soaking a couple of bases to get the figures off as they need to be rebased, slow progress  :-w

My mixture of filler, paint & PVA is taking a while to break down :(

I was beginning to wonder why the New Zealand weather had such an impact on painting figures, but since my son's 2CV is rarely out of the garage, now that he has a second more up to date vehicle, I now know.

I've been meaning to ask, Paul.

Do you often take your pics around sunrise or sunset ?......
Purely because of the length of the shadows on some of the shots.
(Not a critisism......'Cos it works particularly well.)
I guess it's a case of 'grab 'em when you can' ?

Lower levels of insulation, lack of double glazing and no central heating means that when it does get cold the out of the way space normally used for painting is too cold for painting :(

I spray outside so am totally weather dependant

Winter is nearly over, I hope

The area where I take pictures only gets the sun later in the afternoon and at this time of year the sun is low
I prefer more indirect light but as you say grab'em when you can.

When I took the last lot it was scattered cloud and to get good depth of field I was using long exposures and the sun was popping out from behind the cloud during some shots ~X( Too much painting to do to reshoot ;)

After soaking for nearly 24 hours the basing mixture came off with a little persuasion with a modelling knife and tooth pick (on the figure base).

The figures survived well although I will have to repaint the boots

Magnetic vinyl glued to all bases and most of the labels cut out from spares. Will only have to reprint three labels :)

Got the guns and vehicles undercoated finally, in between entertaining the twins all weekend as they've both come down with stomach bugs...not good  :(

This has not been a fun few days for Mrs Shy or myself.....hopefully they are now on the mend.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
we are not now that strength which in old days
moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are.

Jeez - I'm writing this in bed with some sort of stomach bug. Very uncomfortable, and on top of that I've cut my right hand in four different places so I can't paint. Making up for it by reading rule books.
