As usual I've done one item as a trial run to work out how to paint the rest.

One Tumbling dice 1:2400 small Spanish galleon down, 16 more ships plus some Brigade Tiny Terrain forts and gun batteries to go!

The Brigade stuff is nominally 1:1000 but looks fine to me :)

Very nice indeed, Ithoriel!

But, as this painting (and basing?) is a trial run, I need to ask: With hexagonal bases covering the whole hex and all of the ship models orientated on the bases as shown above, how do you "cross the T" in your games?
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Thanks to you both for the kind comments.

The rules are my own and still "under construction!"

As it stands it is impossible to do significant damage to the fabric of a ship's hull. Damage is applied to Gunnery, Rigging, Crew and Soldiers.

Broadside guns cover an arc created by the two hexsides. Bow and stern chasers fire along a single row.

A vessel that can trace a a path to an opponent's bow or stern by the shortest route may opt for a bow or stern rake. The smaller target makes it harder to hit but damage is increased. Ships often have the option of firing at either bow/stern or beam.

You can relax fsn its a decal. I got Veni, Vidi, Vici 10mm and 15mm scale decals of crosses for the Spanish and roses for the English. Those three are 10mm versions.

Started painting the Spanish, based and undercoated the English, assembled and based the Brigade fortifications.

As ever, progress is slow but at least it's progressing :-)
