Hey, Leon!

How about next year we have a category for converted Pendraken figures?
But please make sure you invite Atavus to be amongst the judges!  :D

Ooh, second that, provided no-one who's any good is allowed to enter :D

Seriously, that's a really great idea :-bd
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

And Javier Gomez.  ;)
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

I think a hell of a lot of the entries in the comp are already conversions in one form or another (part of what makes it such a strong competition)

Cuold be nice to separete the conversions (who always have a bonus of originality) from regular paint.

Then conversions fight each other.

Leon

It's certainly a good idea, although all of the categories allow conversions already.  We'd have to weigh up whether we could support another category with prizes as well, both on our own side and from other companies, as we've already pencilled in a 'Warband' category for the new rules/figures.

When you look at the size of the prize (£20 plus goodies to the value of a further £20-30) you are being incredibly generous for quite a small investment by us entrants.
And I note that in the "Why I enjoy the competition" post, little has been made of the prizes.
I wonder if you could halve the value of the prizes and still have as many entrants.

It's £20 Pendraken to the winner, £10 Pendraken to the runner-up, so there's £210 from us each year.  Plus £20-30 from the third-party company, so another £140-£210 from them as well.  The prizes from us are easy enough, as long as it brings more interest in, but getting more prizes from other people is the struggle each year, as I've already tapped up most of the 10mm oriented companies!

There's prizes?
I thought winner just got a hearty handshake, maybe a pat on the back unless some of the chaps think that might be too much touching,  three loud Huzzahs and maybe a complimentary sherry in the forum bar
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Have to admit that they are the motivation for me.
If I didn't qualify for them one year, it would make me doubly motivated to do better next.
The store credit with Pendraken is an added incentive mind  ;)
