It is a great site, but it requires care to use it well. The series of cards show flags from after our period. Some were carried earlier in the APW and FPW but many are new designs(or copies of much older designs) issued  by Kaiser Wilhelm 2nd.  Bear in mind that if you are war gaming in 10mm the Pendraken sheet produced by Maciek has all the varieties of fully accurate flags needed for this period.

I know about the Pendraken flags and they are really nice however, mine are 6mm and I mostly paint my own.

Even if some of them are a bit late, they do give you a feel for the standards,; that's what I thought anyway.

Kudos for that, I gave up,painting my own some years ago. That said, Baccus do perfectly reasonable examples of the basic Bavarian flags in 6mm. I agree with you on the site, I like it, and it is very useful in conjunction with other sources.

While I've got your attention, do you have any info or can point me in the right direction for Bavarian infantry standards?  (Of course, all such information would be treated in the strictest confidence.)  :)

What exactly are you looking for?  The Pendraken sheet shows all the infantry flags carried by Bavarian battalions, and identifies which Battalions carried which type.  All but two battalions carry one of two types which are to all intents and purposes indistinguishable at 10mm scale, let alone 6mm. The only difference being the monogram in the corner wreaths, some regiments having 'M' for Maximilian, other 'L' for Ludwig.  There is a photo of a reproduction of this basic type on the photo section of the 1870 Yahoo Group, in theFPW flags album. The two exceptions are old Napoleonics Leibfahne examples. The Bavarian flags on the site you linked are accurate, apart from those which have crowns in the corner wreaths.

Will, I think Sub prefers to paint his own 6mm flags so I have sent him some info from an early edition of the Foreign Correspondent.

Thanks again. This FPW project would have taken a hell of sight longer if it hadn't been for the extremely helpful advice from yourself and Mollinary.
