Hey,
Apologies if this has already been requested but I've checked the last few pages and can't see it.
Are there any plans for 1809 ish Spanish troops, they would be really useful for my OOB of Talavera.

Regards and thanks,

Any update on these at all? Recognise they are probably pretty low on the list but some idea of if they are likely would be lovely!

They will be done, but it'll be some way down the line at this point, probably a couple of years I'd think.  The sculptor is working on some Brunswickers at the moment, then I think he might head over to some Polish as well.  After that we need him to do some more WWI additions and possibly a quick revamp of some of the late 19th C. ranges.

Another vote for Napoleonic Spanish ranges.

Something to keep in mind when doing 1808 and later Spanish. Although there is no doubt that some units probably still wore their 1805 regimentals, the regular army was in considerable disarray, and more territorial armies started to appear. And with this came a profusion of uniforms. The Osprey books do not begin to explore the variety except in volume 3 which has the three tables listing uniforms. Also, not every unit wore the round hat (top hat style) and many wore shakos - captured French, and British style mostly. Although not a cheap book, and in Spanish, one of the better sources is "Uniformes Espanoles de la Guerra de Independencia" by Jose Maria Bueno Carrera. There are 71 color plates with multiple figures on each plate usually. I am always happy to help with uniform info if I can, but ask that you send me a PM so we can chat off forum which allows me to send pictures.

I am a real fan of the Spanish army of 1808-12 due to the large variety of uniforms and colors - gets me every time! I have a DBN Spanish army, but yet to be painted.

A couple of plates for examples.

Indeed it is and by quite a margin!  The Spanish are still something we're interested in doing but it will be as part of our wider Naps expansion.  With the Confederation states coming next year I think we're almost done with 1809 so the next logical (and most requested) step would be to head back into the Peninsular.  I don't know at this stage whether it would be a regular sculpting job or if we'd look at another Not-Kickstarter method with it.  We'll have a chat next year and see what will work best.
