Very Nice!  But a slight quibble - I think the Colonel's colour is  - literally - a white cross sown onto a white background.  Your current version might add unintended weight as to the traditional French Battleflag!

mollinary - boom, boom.  White on white's a bit tricky for differentiation at my skill level.  A bit darker on the lines delineating the cross next time, might get it by the 5th battalion!
