I'm now in the process of making scenery for my 10mm AWI and am debating the best way to make snake fencing that looks realistic.

anyone got any ideas what to use for the fencing in this scale, as obviously matchsticks are too thick, i've found some flat toothpicks but they are so awkward to glue together, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on some useful product.

Cheers

Hi

Try Langton Miniatures 10mm snake fencing. It is excellent and good value!

I'm actually attacking the fencing problem myself.  I want something that looks like

since at the moment that is the only template I have for 18th century fencing.  I do plan to order some of the Langdon snake-rail, but the sort of fence they are using at Louisbourg  should not be to hard to scratch build.

How about using lolly (popsicle) sticks / coffee stirrers as your horizontal base for these & add toothpicks vertically...or you could go for balsa & etch in to make the individual stakes I guess?

FierceKitty

Irregular Miniatures also make a snake-rail fence in 15mm; I used some of it for a 10mm pony wars campaign some years ago and it looked pretty good.

Why you don't take the toothpicks, stick them together on onside and then you use gluespray on the other side? After removing the tape you gluespray this side too and rdy.

GordonY

Hovels do it in 15mm, about 20 inches for £3.50

http://www.hovelsltd.co.uk/acw15mm.htm code 5AC5

it does the job and its cheap enough.

Really good idea. I've stored in my modelling notes, thank you.
