Title: The road to Prague 1757
Post by: Leman on 21 April 2014, 08:35:56 PM
Recently at the club we decided to switch from Maurice to Black Powder, the Last Argument of Kings. After a rather unsatisfying attempt at a pointed balanced game I decided to take the authors' advice and produce two representative armies and a scenario. Thus an Austrian force was stationed in a town on the road to Prague, knowing that there was a Prussian army on the way.

Cavalry had been called for and arrived at the town.

Unfortunately the infantry were still making their way down the road and were only just arriving on the field of battle, still in column. Who would have thought that Frederick would personally lead a cavalry attack into the flank of this nice juicy target.

This totally disrupted the relief column's entry onto the table.

The above picture shows the opposite flank where more Prussians were marching down the road and forming a new flank. This tempted the Austrian cavalry who were badly cut up and retreated. The Austrian command structure was not up to the task, troops did not move, confusion reigned, and the Austrians began to withdraw, whilst Prussian guards and grenadiers came on in perfect order.

Have you rumbled the plan yet Lemmy? Paint 28mm and play 10mm.

Great photos showing all that is good about 10mm. Like what you've done with the buildings as well.
