Post by: haupt on 26 October 2013, 07:49:15 AM
I was inspired by Pawels painting of 5th New York zouaves, and decided to give it a go.Ok so face, fez, jacket, jacket trim, all fine. Things fell apart when it came to the tambour.(decorative design on jacket front), any suggestions gents ?

Yes - in 10mm give it a miss. It hardly shows up on my 15mm zouaves.

You could paint in negative (personally wouldn't bother but...) whereby you basecoat with the decorative colour and then paint over in the main colour, leaving behind the pattern you want. Then use a very fine permanent marker to black line.

Do you need this level of grief  :-\
