Yes..............Sultanbev
BUT
in BKC
AT = Anti Tank and AP = Anti Personnel
guess that was where I was picking it up from but if BKC is not quite correct then the original list with AT in it should read A/T?
anti-tank is normally written A/T or possibly A-T, otherwise it could be mistaken for the word 'at' in capitals. In my book anyway 8)

I'm told that the adjective "gay" was subverted in San Fransisco via the acronym "Good as you", and "camp", though seldom used by Americans these days, was a NY police acronym for "known as male prostitute". One wonders if "Quite unusual, even extremely naughty" is waiting for reevaluation.

Hi kustenjaeger,
Any chance of getting the OP (original post in this context) list reorganised by classification?
Wargames rules names
Wargames generic conventions
Actual military terms
Etc.
:)

The 'Edit' post function will have timed out for kustenjaeger by now, but I'll get this sorted as soon as I can for everyone.

No, no. no! BAR is a Pendraken acronym for "Block Aztec Requests".

"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present." - T. S. Eliot "Burnt Norton"
I have three standard-bearers with a collection of clubmen in my ECW medley. One standard bears the loyal legend "East Coker for King Charles", one "Little Gidding for King Charles", one "Norton for Kin..." (the rest of the flag is missing, with burn marks). Nobody's got the point yet; I think I need to upgrade the level of my opponents.

A few from the medical profession (Thanks to the good Doctor for these) beware of they're on your case notes.
NFN - Normal for Norfolk (Implying a rather linear family tree).

CTD - Circling the drain (Traiged to heap three). see also GPO
GPO - Good for parts only.
LOBNH - Lights on but nobody home.
PFO - Patient fell over.
UBI - Unexplained beer injury.
TEETH - Tried everything else, try Homeopathy.
My own field is Computers which has elevated acronyms to the level of scripture.
Every damn component has one.
A good one for troubleshooters to share is:

Okay, parading my ignorance* here, but I don't get it?
* But I was always taught that there's no shame in not knowing everything - it's always much worse to pretend you understand something than admit you don't.

The component poems of T. S. Eliot's "Four Quartets" are Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages and Little Gidding
Much of Eliot's poetry feels more like a puzzle than a poem with obscure and oblique references to other writings.
So the final flag represents Burnt Norton rather neatly.
I have long thought that Eliot would have been a better crustacean than poet.

Perhaps having the fourth standard would help some of your opponents :-\
