I'd love to see a range which covers the Anglo-Mysore and Anglo-Maratha wars from the 1790s-1820, including British in round hats, sepoys in various headwear and Mysore and Maratha regulars.
I realise this isn't a hugely popular period and that there are other ranges and sizes that cover the period, but I've really fallen for 10mm (I have just painted up a WSS British army; they are easy to paint yet look great!) I think this colourful period would lend itself well to 10mm, as do all horse and musket period armies (in my opinion)
much obliged

And artillery with muzzles in the shape of tiger's heads.

I'll put my vote in. It's the only war I've successfully fought in Empire Total War. Must count for something. ;)
Add my vote; I'd buy some parts if not all.
I recently put up a blog post (http://crossfireamersfoort.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/illustrious-wargamers-tipu-sultans-sons/) that might provide some inspiration.. 8)

Excellent first post, Heliat. You can sign me up for these also!
Some of these would link in well with 18th century Ottoman and Persians armies too, why not sculpt a large eastern range to cover this and other conflicts of the period?
cheers
Ian
Oh yes, definitely eastern armies like the Ottoman as well.
+1 for the vote towards Indian troops.
Excellent suggestion!
My. Vote. Here.

Yep, I'll vote for that.
Always like armies with lots of fierce-looking fellows in turbans with swords.
I'll vote for this - and to slide it backwards for a range that covers Indian forces through the 18th century, not much of a stretch.
Or even the Renaissance
... or Melukha? Meh, probably not. :(
I'll vote for that too.

(I have the army lists too, so have a good idea of what's needed...)

Bump:-Surely a relatively easy expansion now on the back of the excellent Mutiny range?
Appreciate 18th Century/ Early 19 Century India isn't everybody's cup of tea (pardon the pun) and asking for a 10mm British in Egypt/ Mysore India range may be pushing it. However an interesting what if idea may be a French/ British engagement roundabout 1780, eg using Brits and French from the AWI range and mixing with elements of the Indian Mutiny and even Afghans as mercenaries. All that is really needed is a pack of HERIC sepoys and command.
Can it be done?
Oh and some Indian Noble Armoured Heavy cavalry with command would be awesome ;)
oh contraire, a Mysorean and Marathan army would be high on my 10mm bucket list, alongside War of 1812 and Egypt/Syria 1798-99 and above the upcoming Peninsula range.
To represent all the Indian troop types you'd need a large number of codes though, and at least 10 for the EIC, as their hats changed over time. I don't think of it as a range you can just tack on one or two extra codes and be done with it.

I was thinking in terms of getting the ball rolling as it were, I would love a complete Indian army in all it's glory, bullock drawn artillery and all, with Wellesley's red coats to match. However from Leon's perspective I could appreciate hesitation before outlaying the initial investment. I'd hope a small investment in relevant sepoys and proxying the AWI range might be a way round this with perhaps the addition of the Indian noble cavalry.
The Indian Mutiny range is interesting in that it does open up a lot of possibilities, by morphing the 7YW British, you have Clive at Plessey at a squeeze.
But yes, I fully agree, a full Indian range would be spectacular and te scale to capture both the detail and variety of troops as well as capturing the sheer size of troops involved.
We're keeping an eye on the various requests around the Naps period, to see where we should go and what order to do them in. With the Peninsular getting sorted this summer, we can then look at either the Revolutionary period (which needs a bit of discussing) or maybe War of 1812 as another not-Kickstarter method.
How about Clive in/of India too?
