Title: American War of Independence Range
Post by: Ironsides on 18 June 2011, 07:50:09 PM
I would just like to take a moment away from ECW negativity and commend the American War of Independence range. Superb to paint and superb to game with, they look great on the table and so many variant poses. I feel spoilt for choice, surely this is the way forward for figure design.

How many of you feel the same about this range?

Yours,

Ironsides

p.s. when are the French commands due to be released?

We probably won't have them for the July releases unfortunately, just too much on round here, but definitely in the August batch.

Nothing in the immediate future, Clib usually puts up pics when he's got something ready. We're hoping to have the American cavalry next, I think.

They are a lovely range - well sculpted with a variety of poses per pack.

The American militia are possibly the best 10mm figures I have ever painted - and I've painted a few 10mm figures in my time

We're chatting at the moment about how best to fit some of the more requested items into Clib's schedule, so I'll update when we've got something sorted.

This may have been mentioned before, but is there any plan to add British light dragoon command to the range at some point ?
Title: Re: American War of Independence Range
Post by: clibinarium on 09 November 2012, 12:52:00 AM
I've never been quite happy with those dragoons, which is why I only did one pack of cavalry before the big rethink. Depending on how the new cavalry turn out I'll almost certainly convert the tarleton wearing figures into those wearing the brass helmet. Even if I don't the first pack will be getting suitable command anyway.

If I do replace the sculpts in AWB33,  it will up to Pendraken to decide whether to use them as replace them or use them as additions. Probably they'll keep them for people who want to add to units already made of that pack.
