Hi All
I've been posting on the lead adventurers forum, so not that big a secret I'm doing a 28mm range of figures for myself for the three year war 1848 to 51 in Schleswig. its something I've wanted to do for years. the research is fun so many pit falls, I've had loads of help from Stuart penhall and contacts at Denmarks life guard museum. I'm starting from 1848 and working my way forward doing both sides. :D It won't be a quick project, at moment I'm coming to finish the Danes with the SH troops started.
Dave
Sounds great fun
I've been following this on LAF and the figures so far look great, interesting project, looking forward to seeing more. :)
A fascinating project and learning curve.
A great period to game for sure. I've got the Pendraken figures for this conflict and have played some BBB games for it as well. Fascinating period and hope to see some images of the figures here at some point. I have three books on the uniforms and general history, so if you want any pics etc, let me know, but I imagine you will already have these.

Thanks for that I've ended up using danish and german sources for the information plus Stuart (who has 30 years of research), I've nearly finished the Danes. What are the titles of the books?

Hi Steve
thanks for getting back, I have all three. The best book on the prussian army is by Paul pietsch in 2 volumes 'formations und uniformierungsgeschichte'.
Dave
Hi Dave,
I thought you'd have them given it's not a widely gamed conflict.

Picture of figures so far.

Very nice work there sir! 8)

Great looking figures Dave. Makes me want to get on with my 10mm Schleswig-Holstein project. An 1848 Danish army pack would be a good start as I already have the German pack.
Lovely job
Very nice, but I think they are not entirely historically correct?
As I understand it, about one in 25 should have only a single leg?
:O)

Currently working on the Danish cavalry and danish volunteers.

Finally an update (forgot password :o ) For 1848 year all Danish completed, all minor German states completed, Prussians underway. Gone A BIT mad with a Danish gun boat and currently doing a train engine done tender and carriage to follow. I'd post pictures but beyond my ability until I get help from Leon :o
Good to hear from you again, good progress by the sound of it :)
Looking forward to the pics Dave :) .
Just finished the train and tender, down scaled from a 1/24th scale model on thingiverse to 28mm, you need something to pretty up the table, also first war that trains were used. Following will be the carriage and flat bed.
