Title: My youngest wanted a game
Post by: Duke Speedy of Leighton on 29 April 2020, 09:32:47 PM
Rach (aged 7 10/12) wanted to try 'Toy Soldiers', so we tried Warband. Hugh High Elves vs Hill Dwarfs, I was the dwarfs. No magic, no upgrades, no cloth. No idea of points either, just put out what felt right!
The result was inevitable, she thrashed me! My dice were useless, she was awesome.

Me thinking I could get a sneaky flank, a well timed (boosted) shot from the Elven archers broke that unit!

Dwarf Low King pushed off the back of the table by Elven Knights, game over man! Blank bases are measuring rods.

Bulbasuar, Squirttle and Charmander were impartial observers, honest!

Will , you ought to know by now, never play against children or wives.

If you win - Your in their bad books or up set them, and anyway your the wargamer and experienced so it doesn't count

If you loose (which is normally the case) - they say You let them win, or you are highly embarrassed at the drubbing.  (It would be less embarrassing to admit you like wearing silky women's underwear and ate your children's pet hamster for tea).

I would like to point out I have never eaten Hamster  :D

The result was never in doubt, given you were playing one of your children :D.

Refight stopped due to bath time! Rach had lost two units, I had lost one.

Yes but you only invoked "bath time rule" to give you a chance to work out a better strategy, as Rach had use the two units as bait, and was about to rout your forces again.  :) :)

Awesome :)

I've not managed a "real" game with my wee one yet but my printed battlemaps have seen considerable blood shed from the My Little Pony's and the Num Noms ;)
