Surely that actually means cancelled, unless they are having Salute 2020 next year? :D

I think that tickets for 2020 will still be valid so they will not be giving back money or credit.  I have no news on the deal with traders but our host may have some idea.

Same with us, the stand booking is carried forward to 2021.  It's probably the best outcome given the situation, as they'd previously said that there wouldn't be any refunds in the event of a cancellation.

Yes - as they could have claimed it was an act of god or suchlike and you'd not have been entitled to any compensation.

Best result, as long as the traders can afford to have their entry costs held by the organisers for a year and as long as the organisers don't go bust or the venue cancels next years booking or puts the price up dramatically. But I'd guess the organisers are booking this a couple of years ahead. I know I would.

But plenty of time now Leon to prepare for a spectacular demo to go with the next big new rules set  ;) ;D

Leon I suspect that not giving refunds is illegal, if you ask for one...

They should have insurance against cancelation. If they cancel I believe they have to give refunds.

It's a difficult one as the Warlords have got a 'No refunds will be given' clause at the bottom of the booking forms that we fill in.  I'm not sure how enforceable that would be though, one of the traders had taken legal advice and said they couldn't do it.

That's another query as well, they'll definitely have some kind of insurance but whether it covers this kind of situation is debatable.  I think both the Warlords and the ExCeL were waiting on proper legislation from the government to ban mass gatherings, which would have triggered either the insurance money or a payout from the government.  Without that, both parties were left in limbo, with neither wanting to pull the plug and take the financial hit.

In the end, I think they've taken the path of least resistance.  Rather than go through the hassles of cancelling the event, sorting out refunds, working out who's going to be liable for what, they've just shifted it all back 12 months.  This way no one is out of pocket and everything can go ahead as normal next year.  All of the traders will have our stand fees tied up for that period, but it's a lot better than cancelling and losing our money.
