I used 6mm Mura Miniatures for my 10mm Russo-Japanese war

They were out of production but appear to have started up again this year

Here's his Facebook page and a link to the website

I am happy to announce that after being out of production for a long time, the original Mura Miniature houses will return. 2d6 wargaming will produce and sell the original Mura Miniatures range, and the first ones are now available for pre-order:

While I enjoy designing the houses, I ended up in a position where I had neither the space, equipment or time to sell the miniatures myself. I am very happy to see this solution where they will again be available for 6mm wargamers.

Hi

If you get some Tomix/Tomytec Japanese buildings they can proxy for Korean to the untrained eye:-

This ebay shop usually has good supplies - https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/plazajapan (https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/plazajapan)

Great news about the Mura buildings and the best part is that I understand they mix well
with the Castle Arts buildings (which I am particularly looking forward to).

The future for Samurai / Age of Wars games is looking bright !

If you put your search engine to "Traditional Korean village/farm house ", you get a set of images depicting the low status 1950s era plebeian dwelling -  wattle/wood/stone walls and shaw weave  thatched roof with often overhang veranda.

The Rorkes Drift style  store house and most thatched eastern Europe buildings will do with a tweak.

In the more westernised urban settings you will have higher status Japanese style buildings and European colonial style building such as railway stations (Taejon is a classical example) which can be served by N gauge. (ebay £5 - £20 depending on size and condition- a little "battle damage" is fine )

Thanks all.

I would prefer to use 10mm buildings rather than 6mm. I prescribe to the thinking a tank is a tank and a base of men is a squad rather than a company so a 10mm footprint is more to my thinking.

I think you are correct Sunray. Timecast's SE Asia range looks to have plenty of possibles - thatch roofs/plastered walls plus plenty of shanty type buildings that seem to be prevalent in the images I've seen of 1950's Korean urban areas.
I'll have a look though TomeyTec and N scale offerings to find the odd grander building in the Japanese style. Although the castle arts Japanese ranges also look to have potential but not sure when Leon is releasing these?!?!

You are very welcome Matt.  Its 1950s so as Western armies of the UN pile in, so will corrugated iron. There is a lot of scope in the Timecast ranges.

I used "tin town" shanty houses in Korea that I have transferred to African bush wars and Latin America.

Best
