Title: For King & Parliament Melee Rules Question
Post by: Westmarcher on 13 February 2020, 11:57:55 AM
I wonder if FK&P fans could help me out here (perhaps even, Mollinary will drop by and clarify). The Rules:-

Melees in FK&P do not continue from turn to turn, but rather troops charge and if they don't break the enemy, pull back to catch their breath, before perhaps charging in a subsequent activation.

How far do they "pull back" to and where?  Thanks.

Apologies for the lack of clarity.  It was only intended to imply they "pull back" into the square they are occupying, ie disengage, rather than physically move into another box. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Andrew. I wondered if it was an actual physical or only an implied withdrawal. In my first test game, I opted for the physical but, on moving forward again with subsequent successful charge activations, it then started to look like Monty Python's Fish Slapping Dance before the issue was finally decided!  ;D

No problem! Love the clip.  Bear in mind that each box is about 100m deep, and the image which we were trying to get across was each side stepping back maybe twenty or thirty yards, perhaps to exchange fire, perhaps to pluck up the courage to try again!
