I recently got the ACW urge in 6mm (its not catching) and, after a scout around the hobby sites,
had a go at making my own snake fences and corn fields. The fences were made out of spaghetti
(excellent material !) while the corn fields came from a type of astroturf. Really pleased with them
until my son bought himself a 3D printer and I saw what can be achieved using this.
I was particularly impressed by the designs created by this chap which should work in both 6mm
and 10mm:

I got an artificial Cmas tree many moons ago, in the post Cmas "get rid of it all to make space for Easter eggs" January sales. You can snip the branches off and do similar or make 6mm pine trees etc. I've denuded about half of it but it's atill going strong.
Buying them in bags pre-cut looks so much easier though!

I had some penne pasta I was using for kids workshops in the loft for over 10 years without any problem. ;D

Bear in mind that he uses 'angel hair' spaghetti which is ridiculously thin. I did buy some
but, after a good two seconds of careful reflection, decided to use normal size spaghetti
instead. Works like a treat. Just cut to size, glue with PVA and then paint as you like.
I was expecting it might droop when painted but no sign so far. Also cheap as chips...
...I think I might biodegrade before this stuff does...
