That blue thing is too pretty to be delivering monstrous beings from beyond the grave.
Those are some really amazing photos.
That's fab! Is that the matterhorn?
Mmm... i actually dont know :D
Thanks for comments! I got some other ideas for this winter...
And i have to paint Lizardmen, Zombies, Knights, Barbarians, Monsters, Greenskins... Elves...
Not sure I can add anything except "wow!".
Oh, and it's not fair, the Dark Elves brought a giant angry pre-plucked chicken. Where's everyone else's dinner?!
This work is really inspiring! I love how soothing terrain you've made!
This is awesome work!!!!

Great work once again 8).
Spectacular visuals.
When I read the title, my first thought was "Isn't 10mm a bit small for SOBaH with its individual movement etc".
How wrong I was, bright coloured figures and superb terrain combine for an excellent look.

They are indeed a bit small. But the project idea was to replace the portability of a "small" boardgame using miniatures so the concept is that.
You play with 7-10 models at max and the bases are border-colored to enhance the "role" of the character ;)
I'm very impressed ! :-bd

Amazing - can you share any of your industrial production tricks?

;D
Basically, except the muscle memory of doing something which i cant share but it still plays an important role... the point is (and is a bit sad): i'm a bit tired of painting. I work 10-12hrs day as a computer engineer, so i'm not always in the mood to came back home and stay sit for another 4-5 hours.
I dont always like painting, but i love painted miniatures too much (in fact, in 20 years of wargaming i never played with unpainted minis).
So when i come to paint something i use a simple techinque. It differs a bit with black primer or white primer but is really simple and industrial.
- Black primer on miniature
- I do the skin for all models, then all hair then all pants etc etc
Same color done on every model, in parallel. In this way, i have to prepare the color just once for "kind".
Last parts i do are metal parts.
After this, i do all highlights (maybe a bit of shading with stuff like Agrax Earthshade) together, with the same principle.
Then all bases with the same principle.
With white primer, you can work a bit differently using Agrax Earthshade as a shadow problem solver. Same principle, you paint all pink, all brown, all yellow... with a lighter tone, and then, SHADE!
And that's it, really not something complicate, but you a bit of flavor in painting
Thanks for sharing,
I was interested since I operate what I'd describe as a "mass production method.
I'm typically finishing batches of 36 foot (3 units) or 12 mounted (2 units).
However priming and the basic colours (Horses, uniform primary colours) are done en-masse (Whole army in one sitting if possible).
They're then split into units, or groups of units for the finer work unitil they're covered with paint.
The finishing batches are selected, inspected and any missed detaiil / or splodging is tidied up.
Finally varnish and base.
I think you're also a far quicker painter than I am.
Congratulations on a fine looking horde.
Some heroes & monsters for some more variety!

Let's see when i have all the complete pieces
Spectacular and brilliant.
I'll admit I didn't know where this was going when I saw your pencil sketches.
I wondered whether the floor tiles would be broken up to create walls - or something equally unwieldy.
Having a regular floor with optional wall segments looks both robust while retaining great scope for flexible layout.

Did you create the floor yourself, or does a terrain manufacturer supply it etched like that?
Thanks
There is a manifacturer here in Italy that can customize the "draw" on MDF bases (Labmasu), he is a great guy and i just sorted out with him what i would need!
Lets say, i did the projects-ketches and he maked them real ;)
Now i'm at 18 bases... i need at least 40-50

and they dont occupy too much space once stored

Sorry, forum eats the slash ( )
40-50 xD ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I imagined it was going to be something like that. :)....Unless you were going into commercial production.
I see you've managed to change it. ;)

Wow!! That is incredible..

Thanks everyone for the support!
I received today my last order, doors, trapdoors, bookshelf etc for the dungeon 8)
I got a pretty stupid question for a 10mm: is there something in the fantasy line for
- Halfling
- Women fantasy characters (found someone in command warband groups, as sorceress and dark elves)
I'm not finding stuff but maybe i'm looking in the wrong catalogue place

There are other 10mm manufacturers who make halflings (I wouldn't mention the names here).
I've not found any female dungeoneers in the 10mm scale.
There's a market gap for Leon to fill.

Think Greeks and bathtubs :)
For female adventurers you might look at the various civilians in the Pendraken range. I seem to remember talk of Amazons from Pendraken being in the works. I'm sure Leon will correct me if I'm wrong.
In the meantime Spellcrow have a small (resin, I think) 10mm fantasy range and will sell you sets of 8 or 32 Amazons at considerably more than Pendraken charge for a similar number of figures!

Archimedes??
Civilians aside, 10mm dungeoneering seems to be what cinematic fratboys call a "Sausage fest".
To be honest, in 10mm, women in armour are going to be pretty much indistinguishable from their male counterparts.
Assuming actual armour and not two saucepan lids and a chainmail bikini bottom!

Your first statement falls victim to the fashion demands of the standard fantasy setting.
Baywatch and dragons.
I hear they're even dispensing with the saucepan lids these days.
Best advice is to buy elves, nobody can tell your they're not she-elves.
And here are the dungeon & the scenics!
I've made up to 35 bases like this, pause for a while

There's always an unexplored corner of the catalogue.
Painting the black foam into stone would lift the whole set to an another level.
it was the original idea but it is also a looong work, so for now, i play, the i'll paint :d
We all know it will be worth the wait, J. :)

Guess who's back?
Closed in home (Italy here) with a limited selection of material. I sacrificed two 50x50 plexiglass used for hexagonal wargames for this little experiment.
Icy lake with a tiny ork village!

They are bought, but you can made them pretty easily. Plastic paper or greenstuff or even better, cardboard
