Been a short lay off on these (5 years).
But 18th Division is done, completeing IX Corps, apart from the Corps artillery reserve and Corps commander (intrestingly, they don't appear to have had a horse artillery battery in the corps artillery reserve, Mollinary, Cameronian, Chad, can you check your sources)
The whole division advances (not technically accurate, as 11th Grenadiers were painted some years ago to complete Prussian forces at Mars-La-Tours and will be joining them in their box this afternoon, but there is an extra unit that was involved with them at Amanvillers, can you guess who they are)?

And here they come out the afternoon sun.

Not labelled yet, but have you spotted who they are?

Yes, 1st Guard Grenadiers Kaiser Alexander. 3rd and Schutzen will join them soon no doubt!
They really do look absolutely belting! :-bd
German General Staff History puts the following batteries in 9th Corps, Corps Artillery:
9th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd and 4th Heavy Batteries, 3rd and 4th Light Batteries, 2nd Horse Artillery Battery.
Hope this helps!
Cracking work, Will. :-bd
Cheers - Phil.
Mollinary, you are a legend, thank you.
Great to see more of these 8).
These do look good. And showing off with 'afternoon sun'!
They are looking good in the summer sun; how will they do when the winter begins after the French refuse to surrender at Sedan? Your collection must be enormous by now. And five years is only a short time to wait to paint these.
Nice!
5 years is a perfectly acceptable run up time says the guy with GZG 28mm Neu Swabian Jagers that have been in a bag for 20 years or so! I reckon if I paint them now or sell them it's basically calling the Reaper....... :d
Good looking minis and well based.
Very nice Will. =D>

Indeed I am just completing some Warmaster figures I have had for 20 years.

I do like a game with a Warmaster feel. :d
They'll look good when they are finished Will :d :d
Sorry late to the party on this, but what set of rules are these based for? The figures are beautifully painted and the large bases really set them off.
Cheers
Jon
Long story...
Volley and Bayonet, but ended up using Black Powder with my club, but could not be bothered rebasing...
I have the bits to finish this Corps, must get them done.
