Title: What is Oath?
Post by: Leman on 07 July 2019, 09:44:11 AM
Just wanted to go on the BBB forum but unable to reach it unless I allow this new Oath company to rifle through my computer. Not keen to allow this without knowing who they are and how secure they are. Anyone able to shine more light on this lot?

Never heard of them. I'm in the BBB Yahoo Group and there is nothing like that popping up when I go in. I'm assuming you have a Yahoo account to allow access: https://uk.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/BBB_wargames/info (https://uk.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/BBB_wargames/info)

Oath is just the parent company of Yahoo. Yahoo was failing pretty badly and was bought out by Oath who own a load of digital outlets, AoL, TechCrunch, HuffPost, Tumblr, etc. So they all exist under one header.

I wouldn't use Yahoo mail or AoL mail given their shady privacy policies around using emails for as targeting and info gathering, but since Yahoo groups is public posts anyway it's fairly benign if it's just for that.

Somehow I have been able to get back into BBB without the demand for an invasion of my computer.
