The Escape by Giulio Rosati is one of the many Orientalist paintings that inspired me to do my 10mm Algeria project

Here's my take on it using Pendraken figures

The horsemen are WW1 Irregular Arab cavalry (ME25)
The camel riders started life as Mahdist camelry (SC8) and, thanks to my mate Shaun, ended up as pretty good depictions of the two central riders

Best of luck for 'tomorrow'
Anyone know who is escaping from whom?
No idea myself. Could it be as enigmatic as Browning's "How They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix"?
Applause for a very good reproduction in miniature of the painting. =D>
very cool indeed! 8)
Regardless of who's escaping whom, both painting and miniatures reproduction are excellent.
They certainly are !! :-bd

Indeed, the very quality of both the orignal painting and the diorama is what piqued my interest!
Looks great! Even though the basing has not been painted, it really fits these miniatures!

Very nicely done!! I love tkaing a picture or scene from a movie or book and recreating it. Makes for a little extra fun!!!

We saw these in the flesh today and they looked cracking! The rest of the display game wasn't bad either!
Yeah, you did some inspired work on those and not just literally.
