Hey everyone,
I think it is indeed a little bit late for an Intro as I got myself into the action as soon as I joined up on the forums. Been having a blast and do really appreciate how welcoming and helpful the community here is.
A few words about me:
I remember painting warhammer miniatures for a year or so when I was a teenager, now 27. But what woke up my interest in miniature gaming again, was that we had established a "board gaming alliance" of sorts with my mates. And as none of us except for me had played/painted miniatures before, getting into proper wargames was out of the question. So I just figured out maybe I could spice up our RISK/Dudes on a Map games. Now I've been painting for around 1-2 years. This hobby provides me with relaxing pastime and a nice balance between my formwork carpenter day job.
And as board game miniatures tend to be around 10mm in size, of course I settled for the 10mm scale.
As of now, I've totally fell in love with the 10mm miniatures. And I have to admit that the lead hoarding leprechaun addiction is real and out there to get you.
I wish you all a great weekend and thank you for your involvement with me, and of course special thanks to Leon and his crew for making it possible for us to express ourselves through these miniatures.
Best Regards,
Atte
Welcome on board Atte :)
Welcome to the forum, I've been enjoying your posts so far! :-bd
Nice to meet you Atte
:-h hello
Welcome aboard Atte. I wonder how many of the carpenters in Liverpool speak excellent Finnish, in fact excellent anything other than scouse, or more likely, Polish!
Thanks for the intro Noktu :)
I've also been enjoying your posts and its good to know a bit more about you
Welcome to the Forum Atte!
Allo
Another Moomin! :)
Hi Atte, welcome to the forum!
You already know what you're getting yourself into so I'll forgo my usual warnings about the idiosyncrasies of the denizens here! :)
A number of interesting posts already .... looks like you'll fit right in.
Welcome Atte.
Welcome from me, too, Atte.
Cheers - Phil
MORE FOREIGNERS - hi and welcome
Hello again and welcome.
It always amazes me how good people from far shores are at speaking
English (usually better than the natives). Pretty humbling.
Phil
Might have a lot to do with the sun never setting and the obvious attitude to the rest of the world based on the current situation (see Ian above).
Welcome aboard..
Us native English speakers are indeed fortunate nowadays that English is spoken throughout the world. In the 18th Century (and late 17th Century?), French was the language used to communicate with other nations and, of course, long before that, Latin. It tends to make many of us lazy about learning other languages although, to be fair, it is a bewildering choice for us - which language to choose to get the best bang for our buck?
Anyhoo, a warm welcome from me, too, Atte. :-h
My money would be on Spanish, French and Mandarin to connect with most of the world.
Esperanto?
Hullo and Welcome Atte, tervetuloa ihan leppoisalle foorumille.
Whereabouts in frigid Finland do you hail from, I'm in Helsinki myself?
Cheers,
Aksu
Thank you all for taking the time to say hello!
My skills in english most propably stem from the sheer need to understand the language. You can't play computer games if you don't get past the main menu :D
@Aksu
Moi!
I hail from the church burning capital of Finland, Porvoo!
