Trying WNA again with reinforcements. First battle a-setting up as we speak.
Reinforcements. :-\
Have the Brits declaired for the South?
whats the WNA?
The War of Northern Aggression.
The reinforcements are just a few more Dixies and Yankees I've been painting. First battle was satisfactory. :)
The defeat here of the Ohio horse was invaluable, but it needed a bit of a gamble. I attacked a line of Yankee foot with my horse, knowing that I'd have to follow up if I won (which was almost certain). The following round I'd either move first, taking the Ohio troops in flank before they could respond, and pretty well smashing the Yankee right, or I'd move second and they'd take ME in flank. But success for me offered the defeat of a unit of foot and a unit of horse, capture of a sub-general, and the turning of the enemy flank; success for the enemy would involve a trade off, one unit a side lost. It was well worth the risk.
The speed with which you change venues is staggering. :)
Looking fun
Certainly is !!
Cheers - Phil.
the WMMF is a great period to ply!
War of Mickey Mouse Forces?
War of My Mother and Father. :(
The War to Make Men Free - call it what it is! ;) (just as accurate as War of Northern Aggression).
Course neither are. Best would be WSR....

Well, round here WSR would be the West Somerset Railway, but I don't think that's apropos.
So, my guess would be the War of Similar Regiments?
War of the Southern Rebellion?
War for Southern Rights? (Bonnie Blue Flag lyrics)
War for Slavers' Rights.
We Saw Railways!
States Rights
IanS
War of Successionist Racists? :-\
War of Sexiteers and Remoaners?

So - The War of Simian Resistance?
BLOODY STATES RIGHTS
And what was the one "Right" the Southern planters demanded? Slave ownership, and the right to conduct massive multi-thousand "crossborder" armed military action to enforce it... poke the bear long and hard enough, don't be surprised when it claws your face off ;)
And we resume....
A few months with both sides frantically recruiting after the losses of the first battle. Dixie has expanded into Philadelphia, and the Yankees are looking nervously at the roads north, checking if they can retreat.

It's ended. Almost everything went right. The victorious Dixies manage to upgrade a few of their weaker units, and they attacked the Yankees at the City of Brotherly Love before they'd recovered from their first thumping. Heavily outnumbered, the northerners tried to break the southern flank with a valiant cavalry attack, but it was blown to bits with the loss of Grant and Sherman. The Union was in no condition to resist further, and New York welcomed the invaders. The Dixie flag is flying over Washington, and a large statue of President Jackson is under mallet and chisel at the monument to civilized Sutth'n behaviour. President Lincoln is learning to pick cotton as I write. By all accounts, he's quite happy.
I like the lancers with their parade pennons, very showy (but can they fight? Uh - apparently not).
If you're going ahistorical you might as well go pretty :D
For the victory parade:
To my eye at least this group has the look.
