They know not their sins...
Newline Sea Peoples
I hated the shields, and hated them when I repainted them, and hated them when I did them again!
Otherwise, I think they look alright... Maybe...

Maybe it would have been wiser to wait and post this when the Dark Lord is in Portugal?
I see Sea People. But they can't be, they lived in the desert, right?
Least they're painted. If I'd got fed up with them, they'd still be needing finishing and conveniently forgotten in a corner.

They were a loose confederation of peoples who used to raid and settle the coastal regions of the eastern Mediterranean, around 1200 BC. They did not live in the desert.
The world still has traces of their presence; Sardinia takes its name from the Sherden sub-group, and Palestine from the Peleset (Philistines).
And nothing short of a re-Creation of the world will put an end to the notion that their baggage train was a sort of proto-Wagenburg or a type of chariot arm,, rather than a normal set of waggons which the Egyptians had to fight to take, like most victorious armies.

Thanks Orcs.
Apologies, I was in a 'humorous' mood last night, so went with the variation of the 6th Sense/Titanic joke - hence, 'Icy Sea People'
I'll get me own coat X_X
I got it...
"C" peoples once were the average students in academic classes here in the States. Now with rampant grade inflation I believe they are "B+" peoples.
So if the C Peoples are now the B+ Peoples, does that mean they lived in the BCE or BC?
And when did Times New Roman start?
Would Sir like his coat brought now, or tossed out with him?
;D
Looking good, Will.
Cheers - Phil

In contract bridge bidding this would be a jump shift. Well played. ;D ;D
Oh, the racing of the pulse at that signal! "Partner, I've got 19+ points and we're looking for a slam here." Subtext: "Pass, and I'll shoot you."
Followed by your partner looking startled, then at hand, then back at you, turning pale and issuing a "Three No" close out.
I'll have to refer that part of the convo to my mother, it's how I imagine poor beknighted non-gamers feel when we talk about games :D
Will, I always take Gorshkovs line about perfection being the enemy of successs - they're done, they're decent, they're on table
And in use instead of languishing in a baggie, unpainted!
Next batch done. This is going to be quite a big army by all accounts!

Ambitious. I always fear that a large force of skirmishers will languish unused at the rear!

Bloomin' 'eck Will, you'll have to reinforce the tables!
That's alot of figures Will! I don't know where you get the energy 8)
Yes I see people! Nice horde (or maybe hoard?)
Do you actually enjoying painting vast quantities or is it some irristable compulsion?
Not had second coffee so mind has not yet fully integrated - sorry if I've asked this question before.
:o that's a lot of figures to paint. Its scaring me just thinking about it ;D
:-bd
Oh.....COME ON.
Haven't you lot sussed it out yet ?

Ah ha! - slave labor.
I hope he gives Ofsted their cut, they get very snotty otherwise! Or if Will's place has been forcibly acadamised they can probably write it off as a valid exercise so long as its profitable for the shareholders :D

Not really enjoyed these, mostly due to the pva I'm using being useless! Will buy some better stuff come payday.
Are you sure you haven't lost a few, there are 2-3 suspicious looking gaps :-\ X_X
Looking good, again, Will !
Cheers - Phil
Paul, that's where this shocking pva failed.
They're glued on elsewhere due to the massive lumps of dead glue!

I'd like to suggest you use a more 'mid'....erm.... 'shade'.....as a background. (Mid grey/mid blue.)
I just get the feeling that your camera (phone ?) is getting fooled by the very light (white ?) background, causing the figs to be underexposed.
Don't think you're doing your painting justice, sometimes. :)
Cheers - Phil.
I think Phil is right.
I've swapped to a black background for quick photos as the phone seems to work out the light levels much better that way.
A mate shared some photos of some cowboys recently and against a light blue background they were very washed out, against a black & brown mottled background the figures suddenly jumped out an looked much better (under the same lighting)
Glad you agree, Forbes. :)...(And I think it was Nathan....or was it Matt, who mentioned this before ?).
When I first started taking photo's of 'wee men' I had what was then called a 'gray card', which is what I used to as a reference get the camera to 'tell' me what level of exposure I needed.
(This is back in the days when I could actually be bothered to use a camera on 'manual' settings.....Nowadays, I just take snaps...and guess. X_X :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[)
If I was outside....(taking piccies of gee-gees going over fences, for example.)....I'd take a meter reading off my hand, as that's supposed to be fairly neutral....then adjust the camera.
If the camera/phone is just used on an auto setting.....And it see's too much light coming back into the auto meter.....It'll underexpose the subject...Which is a shame. :(
You don't NEED to go to any manual settings on the camera/phone....As long as the background is a relatively 'mid' shade.
Hope that makes sense !! ;D ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil
Yeah, snatched iPad shot last night... sorry!
Good grief, Will....No need to apologise ! ;D ;D
I just think you'd do your painting much more justice if the figures weren't underexposed...It'd give 'em more 'punch'.
If you use a much more 'neutral' shade background, your 'snatched' shots would look oodles better.....I'm sure, Matey.
(You should see some of the awful hand held snaps of green masters I send Leon !!.....I often have to re-shoot at least once, 'cos I'm rushing, and don't take care with the originals. ;D ;D ;D ;D)
Cheers - Phil
Coming on nicely Will

:-bd And you are even finding time to paint something for yourself! :o
