Title: African Animals and belgian askaris
Post by: MediumAL on 04 July 2017, 07:53:37 PM
Not sure how much demand there would be, but hey ho.

Giraffe, Ellies, wildebeest, lion etc

Belgian askaris, could use german askari at a pinch but would need to mod the backpacks, and not sure how I'll cope with 10mm conversions.

Don't forget the crocodiles. Many other animals are available already, crocs are always overlooked.

DON'T ASK ME....I think Leon's eaten it. (Or turned it into 10mm designer hand baggage.)  :P

I thought there had been mention of a croc.  It wasn't just the beer then.

This thread mentions the crocodile, but no pictures. It's from 2012, so extremely recent from Techno's viewpoint.

Yeah... the honest answer is that we moulded the crocodile and then it went walkabout and we've not seen it since...   :-[  We're currently doing some cataloguing of the master moulds though, so hopefully it'll appear again soon.

There's a rumour that Phil also included a 10mm scale mosquito swarm too, but they've lost that too!

African animals would be good. It's the kind of thing that can liven up a colonial game. Or be useful in fantasy games too.

A few of the fiercer African animals would allow people to play the Congo and Death in a Dark Continent/African explorer type rules in 10mm, as well as improve the currently very limited East Africa WW1 range.
I also agree that a wider range of Askaris and or Askari poses would make the East Africa WW1 range much more attractive. Nigerians, Kings African Rifles in tall fez and Belgian askaris in colourful blue uniform would all add interest! Some of the current greens for SCW in fez could be remodelled by Pendraken sculptors fairly easily.
Ps still waiting for those Middle East greens to be moulded....much needed reinforcements for the "forgotten front"

Well it is short term stuff that goes first, so you can still remember running from that T Rex.
