Would you recommend the trilogy of books covering the Eastern Front of WW1 by Prit Buttar?
Yes, I would.
I have the first two and am around three-quarters of the way through the first volume. It's very clearly written and gives lots of details without getting bogged donw in minutiae.
If you are looking for a detailed study in English, then I think you've found it here.
I would also recommend his other books on WWII, if your interests extedn that far :)
Thank you!
I am also about halfway through volume I. It is a very good read and there are eyewitness accounts which demonstrate clearly that the soldiers on the ground had little idea where both their comrades and the enemy were.
