Title: Commission Showcase Videos!
Post by: Mickey Sims on 21 April 2017, 11:05:20 AM
Hi All,

I hope you had a great Easter!

As a shameless plug  :-[ (& hopefully something you guys would like to see), I present my weekly commission showcase YouTube Vlog (primarily Pendraken SYW minis ATM).

This week I've been working on mostly Spanish with some Austrian artillery. The Spanish Hussars are from an earlier period (WAS), which look great, so were included (my customer's words not mine)!

These are painted to my basic standard (basecoat, highlight or wash, varnish). I hope you like these regular updates. I'm considering adding more painting tutorials  :-. If anyone would like to see those, please show me some encouragement.

Check them out on my YouTube channel:

You're right, Mickey - absolutely shameless!  :P

And as for the standard of painting - absolutely nothing to be ashamed about! These are very good! :-bd

Now let me see, too late for my SYW collection but perhaps I could start another period ........  :-\

Thanks Westmarcher!

Personally I have a new Napoleonic project in 18mm  :-[ I will probably post some vids of this stuff too!

Hi Mickey,

Some really nice figures.   The one thing that stood out for me in particular
was the finish you achieved on the Austrian guns.  The whole colour scheme
(yellow brown with black metalwork and bronze barrels) works very well.

Are you able to tell us how this was achieved or is it a trade secret ?

Phil

I use paints, thinned a lot, so consistency of inks.
