Title: Some new League of Augsburg sculpts!
Post by: Leon on 07 March 2017, 11:33:58 PM
Clib's been working away in secret on a few additions to the LoA range, so it's time to reveal them...

First up we've got some new mounted Dragoons, with both the Allied and French types converted over to fur hats.  Clib's also done some conversion work on the command figures as well, so we've got the mounted command switched into tricorns (still in standing and moving varieties), then the foot command group have also been given the tricorn treatment.  Whilst these will be added to the LoA range in our catalogue, they will of course be of use to the post-1700 crowd as well for WSS/Marlburian armies.

These will definitely be a post-Salute release, probably more towards the summer after we've got some of the other additions moulded and released.

Cool. Just so that I understand, are these just headgear changes on existing figures, or are there new poses as well?

Excellent,

I'm just painting my last unit in my Austrian 7YW army and those command figures will be very welcome to lead them!!

These will make great additions to what is turning out to be a comprehensive range  :)

On a greedy note, are mounted dragoon horse holders on the horizon?

Also, are there plans to tricorn any of the infantry packs other than command ?

Magnificent sculpts! I didn't plan to invest in this period, mainly because of the lack of a ruleset with good scenario books but I might reconsider.

I still can't figure out how Clib manages to work with ProCreate......Makes my fingers ache, just trying to mix the stuff.  X_X

Conversions on the previous dragoon sculpts.

No plans as far as I'm aware on the horse holders, definitely no plans for the tricorn conversions on the other types.

Have a look at Twilight of the Sun King - got a copy recently, looks very good and the scenario booklet has quite a lot to get your teeth into!

I have found that Baroque gives a very enjoyable game in this period.

Hi

Love this range but it needs an advancing musketeer with a fixed plug bayonet to add a bit of variety.  I ve never been a fan of standing poses so is it too much to ask for one ? :-.

Now why would you go and tell me that for???????

Ive been a very good boy this year and only spent the grand total of £35 on wargaming after a New Years Resolution not to be frivolous on anything new before the old is finished.

You Cad Sir!

Producing those Command Groups in tricornes is a brilliant (i.e. Evil!) idea!   Magic  :-bd :-bd :-bd

Pleasure - I'm hoping to nip over the P&S table at the Wolverhampton show on Sunday to cunningly get Hwicce to run me through a game :D

These look just great. I have been waiting since this range came out for some infantry in tricorn so I can use the range for the GNW. Looks like its not going to happen :'(

Hi Leon,

Any news on when we can expect the new mounted command groups to be released? As I am reviving my WSS armies for use in initial playtesting of a possible new TtS variant, I am looking to redo all my commands. So I would want four of the standing groups and two of the moving ones, and a couple of the group on foot with horseholder.

Best,

Mollinary

It's still likely to be the summer as we've got a real backlog of sculpts at the moment with all the time spent on BKC.  Once we're past Salute I'll be getting cracking on those Nap Brunswickers and WWI additions and then we can look at these LoA chaps as well.

Can I add a vote for additional tricorn variants of infantry, gunners and cavalry, cavalry especially, as they really are stunning sculpts and with Tricorns was wondering if they would pass muster for service in the Great Northern War. As this would really help expand the range with minimal input.

Saw the truly inspiring 6mm GNW game at Salute and it's got me thinking about doing it in 10mm.

Cheers

Jon

I'll back this request as well as I would like to do GNW and they could stretch for WSS as well, may  be?

So tricorn versions please....

Would love to see some more sculpts for this range.

Bought a few sample packs and I am wavering whether to go all in.

>>And maybe it's time for a Clibinarium inspired revamped WSS/GNW range.  Just sayin'.

I'm currently painting up some of the WSS figures and they seem to fall into two camps.
The line infantry are superb - fantastic sculpts that are a joy to paint.   The command
pack, though, looks older and has a chunkier style (bit like me these days)...

I really don't think there is any need to alter the standard infantry - perhaps just update
the command pack.

I can, however, see a case for a GNW range (there is cross-over with the WSS but also a
need for some specific figures).   I'm sure that any GNW range sculpted by Clib would be
a success and would provide the same boost that he gave the LOA range.

Amen, amen, amen... and flag's 'cos I am lazy. They are slightly different from teh WilliamIII/James II Irish war flags, although I am using the latter as a substitute, (Like I said, I am lazy/life is too short!)

Utopian wish list, and I KNOW there is a vast backlog but how about:

1) Some grenadiers in 'action pose' with muskets. muskets with plug bayonets and perhaps even throwing a "grenado"?
2) Some grenadiers kneeling and shooting?

Otherwise I am looking forwards to increasing my Metal Mountain with all these. Do you realsie I am developing a £35 a MONTH Pendraken addiction? What will I tell teh Mrs when she realsies that I'm not spending it on booze and fags like I told her???? ;)
