Although, it'd be quite a rubbish zoo if it was full of cows, sheep and rabbits so maybe it's more like the Pendraken petting farm...?! The Pendraken Menagerie...?!
Anyway, we've got 9 different farm/countryside animals here ready to be used in all manner of ways. Fields full of cows and sheep, farm buildings with chickens or geese running wild, dogs on your command bases and rabbits hiding in your hedgerows! The possibilities are endless!

Is that another name for the forum?
Wonderful animals though.
Well, that's the Picts baggage sorted then! '. Just to keep FSN happy.
No lemmings or meerkats Phil? ;)
Hmmm, when I begin the ancient Chinese armies next year, these will go well with a cooking pot for a baggage train.
Perfect for vignettes and general bits of scenery 8)
No ducks?
Very good (the rabbits must be absolutely tiny!). Must include some cattle and/or sheep in my next order. :-bd
Only slightly disappointed you did not take the menagerial decision to call it your Livestock range. ;)
Of course, you will now receive requests for farm implements and farm workers (oh, what a can of worms* that might be given the costume requirements for different eras), different breeds, dead cattle (for WW2 Normandy games, etc.), dead horses (great for any battlefield) and mice! :o
Now, let me see, with some judicious shaving of his whip into a crook or something, I may be able to convert the SYW "Farmer Giles" driver in smock to a shepherd or cattle drover .....
* whoah! worms would be impossible ... surely!?
Ah Leon, with these animals, you spoil us. :D
Excellent, excellent, excellent.
Will there be an army pack?

dead cattle (for WW2 Normandy games, etc.),
Easy - cut 'em off the base and lay'em on their side.

Sorry to get personal - but do those cows have udders? If not, I can see some of them pulling all sorts of wagons, guns etc.

Very thin ankles on those chickens. :(
brilliant!
Cool. Just putting together an order along with some of the recently released civilians (newly moulded not ex-convicts)
My order for Techno's new civies is already in the system (don't forget it Leon). Also three buses. I would really like some civilian types in trench coats with the odd weapon (Carl Gustav SMGs, Colt .45 pistols, Remington .308 scoped rifles). I know the trench coat is an icon for a spook, but aren't all of our figures "icons" on the table when the dice rolls ?
Yes, those black ops, Langley Farm Boys had their baptism of fire in Korea. Not their finest hour( -1), but lessons were leant.
A lot of the declass stuff makes interesting reading.

We've got dead horses in the Napoleonic Misc section, so no worries there. For dead cattle, as fsn says just tip them over!

Any chance of getting some dwarves to ride those goats? Or are they a lot smaller than the ponies that the dwarves currently get?
Will.
No, sorry....still haven't finished that meerkat. :-[....and didn't I do a lemming on your gobbo mage ?.......Or did I pick that off, in the end ?

The chicken and the rabbit.......They're not as small as the bloody squirrel Leon asked me to put on the wood elf 'runestone'. :P

Wracking my brain for a reason to buy the bunnies...
Can't think of one now, but will try much harder. Must have the tiny bunnies!
Britain, at the dawn of a new age. Somewhere near Colchester, a wealthy Roman farmer decides to introduce rabbits to his farm. He likes their hippity-hoppity run. He likes their big eyes. He likes the feel of their fur. He likes the taste.
The wagon bearing crates of the fluffy brown creatures arrives, and is drawn through the native village. The local British leader is disturbed by these foreign beasties, and asks "wot is dey den?"
"Those, miserable creature, are rabbits. I plan to breed them." The Roman looked at the disgust on the Briton's face. "With each other." He explained patiently. "Then they will be free to roam the countryside and breed."
"We don't loik roamin' Romans!" exclaimed the British leader. "We will oppose dees rabbis."
"Tough!" Responded the Roman, little realisising that his curt response would bring about not only a massive revolution amongst the natives, but also lay the foundation of anti-semitism in these fair isles. The Briton stalked away.
"Bloody woman!" seethed the Roman. "What's her name again? Boudicca? We'll not hear from her again, I'll warrant"
So there's your scenario. Romans trying to loose rabbits on the countryside, whilst British patriots score points for offing Roman assets: 1 point per rabbit, 5 points per slave, 10 points per protecting Roman soldier.
Rabbits were introduced by the Normans.
Lapin in the Latin?

Watership Down campaign?
I'm planning on putting the bunnies in various hedgerows. May stick some free range chickens in there as well. I guess next we need foxes.
You need a pest controller for the rabbits - a man in a trench coat - Rick Barlow - the most popular unmade figure in the Pendraken range!
:)
My (semi-serious) thought on rabbits was as an obstacle for cavalry - not the rabbits themselves, but certainly their 'oles.
Warband Rabbit army?
Attila the bun.
The Buns of Navarone.
A ten-bun bomb.
Roman legion hares.
Oooh, useful for both objectives and table dressing in games.
Given that I've been looking at a 28mm scale cat miniature I need to paint and thinking how small that is, those rabbits must be tiny, good to have the stuff available though.
Absolutely EXCELLENT! And you can be sure a pack of rabbits, or bunnies to bunny people, will be in my next order.
I already have a HotT Watership Down army partially started with each figure named for a character in the story. My wife and I love the story, and bunnies, so much that we have made two trips across the pond just to visit the places in the story - which are all real places and mostly as they looked when Mr. Adams wrote the story. Our last trip in 2012, was very special as we had tea with Mr. and Mrs. Adams in their home at their request. A truly magical experience for us!

Here we are at "The Great Beech in the beech hanger on top of Watership Down. The names of the rabbits from the story are carved in it. Yes, it is an old, dead tree but because of the names it has been left there. A new tree has recently been planted in it's honor.

Yes, the fires were about 200 miles east of us, but we still had a smokey atmosphere even this far away. Wild fires are a BIG problem over here, but usually out west and it seems in Florida as the most common places. Thank you for asking.

Actually I'm on your side of the pond about 500 miles north on the east slope of the Alleghenies.

Point taken. To be more precise "go North until you come to the fourth Mail Pouch painted barn (the one near the Exxon station), turn right, cross the big river, then keep going till you find the MickeyD's with the triple drive-through, turn right and proceed up the mountain 'till you hear a large colony of honking geese. The signs where single sided and only readable from one direction. Often as not there was no sign sequence on the opposite side of the road (and even if there were they would likely go unnoticed in your direction of travel).
In the old days - pre-Interstate - the Burma Shave signs were well-known navigational points (you remembered the jingles). In the example I gave and counting from the first sign encountered, "Even if fsn" would be the third sign. BTW - my example has a total of five signs. These were placed about a quarter mile apart. As a kid they were much valued - breaking the tedium of the road with a poetry lesson! 😀

I'm not sure how many folks remember or know of the Burma Shave signs or the phrase "Drop, Duck and Cover", or Howdy Doody, and Mr Green jeans, etc. etc. etc.
The first TV I saw had a cabinet the size of a refrigerator, and about a 4 inch screen showing mostly snow! William Conrad was Matt Dillon on the radio, along with the Great Gildersleeve, and The Buster Brown Show. I remember it all, even my great grandparents on the wall crank telephone!

He could knock out a quick conflagration toupee to fit a wide range of critters, then the more improvisational pyromaniacs amongst us can send a wide variety of flaming beasts to disrupt enemy lines.
As to pugs, perhaps the 'tribble in picklehaub' could be either converted or simply made available as a proxy! ;)

Sheep don't count.
Thank goodness for that FK, if us humans count sheep to go to sleep, what do sheep count?
Also, magic mushrooms grow best in sheep fields, what do sheep see when they eat them and hallucinate?
"Oh man... A cloud with legs... Trippy... Oh... It's my brother!"
When I was at college in Aberystwyth it was not unusual to see/ hear the spoof news that the Annual Parade of Cardiff Virgins had been cancelled that year as one had fallen and broken her ankle ... and the other refused to march alone!
Amazing what you can find in a Welsh field beside sheep and fungi:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/europe/88142158/Man-used-life-savings-to-buy-field-and-discovers-ruins-of-lost-city

There are the remains of a very ancient 'fort' on the top of the hill about half a mile up the road.......Just a pile of rocks now.....And a ruined (or unfinished) cromlech in a field the other side of the road, about 600 yards away from Techno Towers.
Yes....We do get 'magic mushrooms' growing in the fields. You can spot 'hippies' collecting bag fulls of 'em from the common at the appropriate time of year.
I wouldn't touch/eat any fungi that I hadn't bought from a super market.......Even the ones I'm sure are 'normal' mushrooms that grow in our fields.....
Knowing my luck......
