Some of you will have seen some of these already, but Matt of Munslow has been putting some serious hours into painting up all of our Modern Vehicles for us, so here they are!

That's not a Tiger, it's a Conqueror! =)
How on earth did he get that writing on the Duster? Please tell me its a decal.
On the other hand, seeing things painted this well makes me lose heart and
not want to buy more to paint really reather shoddilty in comparison.
Not a decal, steady hand and patience.
And don't be down on your painting its not bad!
You can achieve whatever finish you want its just a case of how long you want to spend on a model and practice. Try different techniques, express yourself as my old art teacher used to say :)
Lovely, lovely work as always.
They are very nicely done.
Makes me want an US force - no idea why, but seeing these photos is tempting me.

Like I said before - seen worse....
They are absolutely brilliant
Take care

Love the M24 Chaffee. Would be good for Korea and French Indochina, Perhaps Task Force Smith or the French Far East Expeditionary Corps markings? 8) (Edit: Just read that Task Force Smith didn't have any tank support. :-[)
We've had another batch of Modern Vehicles through from Matt, so take a look at his outstanding work once again!

I totally agree Sean - it has got to be one of the best Cold War camos - although some of the Modern Chinese camo schemes are also fantastic and give it a run for the money.
I must admit I am very tempted by some 10mm CWC armour for an imaginary "what if?" Berlin scenario
Got an Airfix Chefey or two in it, it;s murderous to paint,

The Berlin cameo seems to have been inspired by the regularity of straight line human construction in an urban environment and one that used colours adjusted to such an environment. The use of pixellated camouflage for rural settings as the Chinese appear to do puzzles me. Can anyone explain why it might be better than traditional approaches to camouflage?

The Conway is indeed an odd choice. I wonder what the rationale was for that decision? It might be useful in some post-apocalyptic scenario, where the zombies try to overrun The Tank Museum while David Fletcher is recording an episode of Tank Chats. Other than that............
The original War Office plan was to issue Conways 1 per Centurion 20pdr Troop, but like the old Firefly and Sherman mix, with each division having a whole regiment just of Conquerors (!). In the end they just put 6-9 Conquerors in each regiment and left the regimental commanders to work it out.
But trying out the what-if with the Conways in each Troop might be an interesting game, once. I suspect it would have worked out badly in practice.
But a whole regiment of Conquerors, now that would be something!

I think the Conway was a freebie from the sculptor, he was doing the Cent 1 at the time and popped a Conway turret in the box for us.
The BTR-152 with armoured top is just crying out for the addition on a chap firing an RPG or a man-pad SAM :D

And a mighty fine thing it is too!
I have a 1950s-ish imagination campaign where Conways, Conquerors and Centurions take on T54s and M48s.
Bit of sugert with a craft knife and use of super glue Mark, but isn't the 152 a tad early for those. If you really want them now PSC 10mm stiuff will supply (this will get moderated for that un).

And T-10s and M103s.
Soviet heavies could also be IS-2, IS-3, ISU-152. All around til the early 60's
All very valid points Gentlemen, but my warring proxies only bought T54s and M48s.
There is also a French client state with AMX13s and Panhards. Waiting for the AMX30 I think.

I do like an AMX30 have any actually fought in anger anywhere?
I know the Greeks use(d) them - did they actually fight against the Turks with them?
Does it matter? I have 4 warring imaginary nations that fight with all sorts of kit. :D
AMX-30 tanks were used by the French and Qataris in 1st Gulf War.

Interesting - thanks Mark
I've always been interested in that balance of the three main forces in MBTs:
1) armour
v
2) firepower
v
3) speed
The AMX-30 has that mix of speed & firepower over armour - but was it a success?
Most users apart from Chile seem to have been happy with their AMX-30s, probably because it's lighter than most contemporaries, and thus less damaging to the native infrastructure. If you factor in the fact that tanks generally spend over 50% of their combat time not fighting tanks, but more often soft targets such as infantry, houses, trucks and dugouts, then it can be considered a successful design.
The Qataris lost 2x AMX-30 out of 2 companies in the battle of Khafji, knocking out 3x T-55 (or Chinese equivalent Type 59) and capturing 4 more.
The French armoured regiment of 42 active AMX-30B2 tanks only fired 270 shells in Desert Storm, and are not known to have had any knocked out.
