votes added
My votes go to the following
1: 34. Bodvoc's Vikings
2: 15. RoyWilliamson's Land Rover
3: 16. paulr's US supply wagon
Take care
Andy
I've picked that supply wagon because it takes really good painting to bring such a dull subject to life. That impresses me to no small degree.
I am not saying who I voted for, but I only considered those who had not already recieved a prize.

What Orcs said :)
Its unfortunate but I suspect some of the photographs themselves do not do justice to the skill of some of the contestants' entries.
Votes added. It was extremely difficult to choose between all these wonderful examples. Well done chaps!
Cheers,
Aksu
I have added my votes,( and did not vote for myself in the interests of fairness). It is very hard to pick just 3 as the standard is so high, talented chaps all!
I included in my votes the entry that's got me thinking, "Oh, I want to collect some of those!" ;D
I just went for 'looks interesting/different/fun', subjective art judging is FUN! :-B =O
Why can't I vote for myself three times?
Westie makes a good point (and I don't believe I've ever typed that before) about photographs.
I got a vote! I got a vote!
Thank you whoever that was.
How am I supposed to only pick 3 from all of those great entries. I got to about 12 possibles on my first pass through.
Going to need a paper and pencil - also having individual and army entries from the same person makes it harder.
Doubly glad I didn't have to judge the whole lot!!
Oops, and you can't change your votes like previous years. I put in some quick starter votes meaning to have a think and a revise - oh well.

Good evening everyone!!
I also voted, and obviously not for me !!!
but the first for his great work of transformation and uniformologic accuracy ........ the second for perfectly find the right colors for the spirit of the army and the staging very nice .... .... and finally the 3rd because he will be a great competitor soon !!!
but it is true that it is very difficult to choose ....... I see the pictures many times before deciding .........

Good to see Aart Brouwer's name is still remembered. 8)

Its unfortunate but I suspect some of the photographs themselves do not do justice to the skill of some of the contestants' entries.
Indeed, I never get the lighting right on my pictures, so i suspect many others have the same problem.
I don't care though, I just enter to be part of it!
I forgot to enter my complete armies for the ACW though!
Now I have some empathy for the judges - hard to decide. In many cases they are just different styles or something. I am really shocked to see 10mm figures painted with black lining and highlighting shading on faces and so on. I have seen many many 28s that are not that good. Seeing them in person would be even better. I chose Pendraken figures because they have enough detail that a simple wash will make everything stand out great - I honestly don't know how you guys can paint to that level.
Does it stop you voting for yourself ? (just kidding)
I still think I should get extra credit for painting eyes in 10mm (on the elephants ...). If not extra credit, maybe just a visit from the men in the white coats
John
I always think the People's Choice is a LOT harder to judge than the individual categories ! ;D
Though, some of those were really difficult to judge. (Personally I could have permed 3 from 'oodles' in a couple... I see Forbes has a starting list of 12 in his first run through !).
JW is absolutely right, in that in an ideal World it would best to be actually have the individual models/armies/bases to see in the 'flesh'....Sadly I think we all know that, that is just going to be a dream.
Anyway.....Enjoy scratching your heads, like we poor b*ggers did for the last month. :P ;)
Cheers - Phil
Voted.
Congrats to all who took part.
IF it runs again next year I will try to join in. (But aware that my chances of winning are minimal No make that less than minimal!)
That can only be zero I'm afraid.
Votes cast
Paulr's AWI British Army - I really like Pauls crisp sharp painting style
Leon026 Napoleonic Allies - tempting me even more to do Naps in 10mm
TinyTinTroops 1914 Germans - making field grey look interesting
good luck to all
Thanks Redstef, I consider that high praise given the quality of your work :-[ :)
Outstanding, i wish i could paint like these guys. :-[
Painting is one thing and the painting here I would never be able to emulate...
But at this scale 'staging' is at least as important and I have voted for units which have a more 'organic' appearance.
Thanks to those who have voted for my entries :D >:< :x
For me, the Spirit of the Forum side is at least as important as the painting and modelling aspect. Anyway, I've cursed three victims with my votes - still never picked the winner - best of luck to everyone, there are some cracking entries up there :)
Cheers!
Meirion
No votes for me!
Now if well painted units fail in their first battle, will this one utterly destroy the opposition? :-\

Very good, Steve. :)

I think it says something about the quality of the competition that those four haven't been picked (yet!).
Though as with most public votes (from Strictly and Eurovision to the Independence Referendum and the General Election) I do find myself wondering what on earth people who voted a certain way* were thinking :-)

Thanks to all who voted for my work. My votes went to Fred's MkIV tank - love the camo and mud, Martin's WWI command - great character, and Bodvoc's Vikings - stunning display! It was indeed difficult to choose between all the great examples.
Cheers,
Aksu
Have added my votes, well done to everyone involved though, some fantastic stuff in here and very hard to pick 3 favourites.
To those who have voted for me, thank you very much, it is greatly appreciated.
Last few hours for voting, Gang....
Cheers - Phil
For a noob on the forum I'm very pleased to have received a couple of votes :D, its a nice compliment :)
Its a tough process having to vote as the standard is incredible.
And that's it folks! After a week of voting, there was only one vote separating the top 2, but the winner of the 2016 Aart Brouwer People's Choice award is...
Bodvoc - Vikings!
Bodvoc wins himself £25 worth of Minibits goodies and I'll be contacting him shortly to arrange his prize.
Congratulations, and thanks again to everyone who entered this year!

Congratulations Bodvoc =D> =D> =D>
Thanks to all who voted, choosing was not easy
Wow, that was close! :o
Thankyou to everyone who voted for me, the standard was really high and I found it difficult to vote for just 3

Congrats Bodvac a very nicely staged entry.
The spread of votes for this round really shows the depth of quality entries to the comp.
Thanks chaps, and of course many thanks to Pendraken for staging the comp. and creating such a friendly forum. :)
Congratulations Bodvoc, cracking entry. I think you should celebrate with a trip to the Jorvik Viking Centre

Congratulations to the winners and all participants at every stage of the competition. As someone new to Pendraken 10mm I've found the painting talent and enthusiasm on show, amazing and inspiring. Looking forward to next year's competition.
Regards to all.

How's your back today, Matey ?
Hope you've had as brilliant an improvement as we've had with the horsey with the abscess in his 'tootsie'.
