With the amount of interest and demand for the upcoming League of Ausgburg releases, in a first for Pendraken we've decided to put them up for pre-order! As well as allowing you to get your hands on them as soon as they become available, this will also mean that you can buy them at current prices, before our impending price increase takes effect.
Timescales on receiving the figures shouldn't be too long either. If we receive the sculpts here in the next fortnight we'll get them master moulded straightaway and into production moulds, so the estimated date for shipping will be before the end of February. That's certainly not too long to wait for these fantastic sculpts!

I don't think those have been discussed previously, so they're probably not on the list to appear any time soon unfortunately? Once this lot have arrived here, we'll be having a chat to see what will be next on Clib's schedule.
Thought they had been discussed early on, I know the arrival of the scythmen (LOA16) led me to believe more of Monmouth's men would appear sometime. Of course it could be done with repaints of existing figures but a more motley bunch with woolen hats, civilian coats and/or shirtsleeves would help- especially for the rebel command and shot. The cavalry just eed some chaps who are equipped correctly but perhaps look a little unsure on their horses.
You don't want to believe James II's anti militia propaganda, they were well trained and reasonably well equipped. James denigrated the militia as he wanted to get rid of it and replace with more regiments in the Royal army, an action that he regretted in 1688 as he tried to call on militia that had not been funded or trained for the previous 3 years.
Chris Scott the author of the new book on the 1685 militia previously did a PhD thesis on the subject downloadable here https://dspace.lib.cranfield.ac.uk/handle/1826/7303 (https://dspace.lib.cranfield.ac.uk/handle/1826/7303)
The book is The Militia of the Monmouth Rebellion by Chris Scott, Partizan Historical No:19 £17.50 from Caliver Books

Fantastic as always Clib, will have to move the period up from the basement on to the painting table. Will order a bunch of these will also have to add more cavalry from the range also.
Any one using Captain General for this period?
William
Oh 'eck! This stuff is looking too good to ignore.
Not a period i care about, but look like great figures.
The horses are the first Pendraken horses i've seen that look right - especially the legs. Now go back and redo all the ancients and fantasy horses so they look like these ones. (immediately, etc)

Talking about this with one of my regular opponents last night, and we thought it would be quite good to get an army pack each to start us off. However I can see no mention of army packs in the catalogue. Are these likely to become available Leon?

There will be yes, we were just waiting on the Dragoons to arrive so that we could put together a nice selection in a couple of armies. I'll be getting those sorted out soon.
I'll bet you've still not redone all those fantasy and ancients horses yet - typical ;)

You needn't remodel the Aztec horses.

Photos please... :D
Always interesting to see how stuff's made.
[only kidding]
Mine arrived in this morning's post. I have to say Clib has excelled himself with these figures. They are even better in the bare metal than in the photos, there is so much character in the general figures, and the moulding is incredibly crisp. Congrats all round! =D> =D> =D> =D> :-bd :-bd :-bd :-bd :-bd

Mine got here yesterday but I agree Andrew, great sculpts, really look forwards to getting them painted. :)
Seems posties were busy yesterday then, got mine too :D
Absolutely fantastic figures. That bar just gets pushed higher and higher. Can't wait now for the dismounted versions and horse holders.
Thanks Leon and Clib
Mystic Phil predicts.......
There will be oodles of these entered in the next painting comp......Or is there just time for this year ? :-\
