Can anyone recommend a green for Jagers, the ones I have just don't seem to cover. I can buy Vallejo locally and there is a games workshop in town, but I would welcome any suggestions. Cheers Al.
Olive drap, black wash, highlight olive drab, second highlight with army green.
(However, thos eare all coat d'arms, not sure how they translate to Vallejo).
Just had a quick look at Nash's Almark book on the Prussians I would go with a base coat of the Luftwaffe Cam Green (823) from the Flames of War range by Vallejo and take it from there.
I use Vallejo olive green for 1870 jagers and Miniature Paints Stone Green for 1914 jagers.
The 1914-18 German jager grey/green was significantly "greener" than feldgrau, but it definitely had a hint of grey in it.
The stone green has a hint of grey and is much lighter than the olive green.
Thank you all, greens are a real pain. I can never get them right, I look at the colour in the shop and it looks right in the bottle but when I start painting I am never happy with the results.
Cheers Al.
I used vallejo luftwaffe green cam then a highlight of uniform green, both from the panzer series. I think their is a pic in my AWI photos on here. Not sure if the uniform colour changed over the years though.

Foundry French Dragoon Blue gives you a choice.

Ah, wrong end of the pointy object. Scrap everything I said about 1914-18.
I still use Vallejo Olive Green for that period.
Ah...
I assumed 1864-70! ;D

Actually, after 1868 you are correct, Mollinary.

Quite right, but I don't think Foundry do French Dragoon Blue, nor do I think it likely it would be very useful for painting Jagers (apart from Hessian ones for 1870 of course :D

Definitely whiskey; he's seeing double now.
Actually, it is a curious electronic problem. I press post, and a red warning flashes up saying someone else has just posted, do I want to review my post? If I say yes, then I tend to lose what I have drafted, if I press post instead, I often seem to end up with posting the same thing twice. I then have yet to find a way of deleting the duplicate. Ah well, c'est la vie! :-\

Snap !
Though I usually find that I think I've replied successfully.....Come back to a thread a few hours later, after other folk HAVE replied.....And think.
"Where the blank's my post gone...." :(

Wasn't Jager Green a centre forwards for Fulchester Rovers during the 80s? :-\
No, it's the grassy triangle in Chipping Sodbury.

Couldn't tell you, I read the Egale, not the Victor. But I thought he was Man City's goalee in 47-8.

Roy Race was in the Tiger, if memory serves.
I believe it will be televised with Jager Green played by Robson Green.

Yup.....Pretty sure you're right there, Ray.

Ah, memory often serves, but quite often foot-faults....
No, you are all so wrong! Jäger Green was the novel I sent to a chap called Bernard Cornwell all those years ago - I often wondered what happened to it - and him - and why I never got a reply? :-\ :-\
