Not sure about that, are there instances of dragoons dismounting to fight in field battles? My picture is of them acting mostly as cavalry.

16th Queen's Light Dragoons 1777 dismounted division armed with British contact rifle.

The British dismounted Light Dragoons were armed with rifles and were a small unit of about 160 men..

The mounted LD's were also trained in skirmishing but were armed with carbines..

goat major

i was under the impression that these guys were sent out without horses to deliberately operate as a dismounted light infantry unit - so they wouldn't have horseholders on the battlefield. Some figs for the troops themselves would be useful at some point though.

My understanding is that as goat major says the dismounted troop were effectively an infantry unit. The mounted dragoons, while trained to fight on foot (and no doubt did so in the war of outposts) in battle they fought mounted. Its for that reason that I doubt that dismounted horse-holders and horses are needed.

Dazza

was just a thought, but hey your the boss :)

as long as the dismounted appear at some stage i'm sure we will be happy :)

what I would be happy with is some Queens Rangers command, so my troops dont become a rabble  :d

how are the horse dollies coming along ?

The mounted LD's were also trained in skirmishing but were armed with carbines..

Only four soldiers per troop were armed with rifles. The rest were armed with carbines.
Dismounted dragoons were trained as light infantry. And they were permanently dismounted, so no holse holders needed.

How about some American light infantry ( early ) . I could use the continentals in caps, but firing line poses would be a great addtion. I know I sound like a broken record, but how about some ragged continentals ? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee :'(

It's a pitty, that most light infantry figures (like Queens Rangers and Americans in caps) are produced in marching poses only.
I think, that light bobs in roundabauts and skirmishing will fill the gap, but we would need another such pack for continental lights.
